A web of pale teal filaments is strung across black, ragged and thorned along every edge, opening into cavities that drop straight through. Violet and magenta burn up from behind the web wherever it thins, and they are the only warm thing in it. Each thorn is fringed by smaller thorns and those by smaller again, so the lace sharpens as it divides. It is glass sponge grown over frost and lit from a long way off. This one is deliberately dark: the violet carries at a distance and the fine structure is for close range.

The shirt is cut oversized with a deep dropped sleeve and a round neck. It hangs wide from the shoulder rather than following it, and falls to a point at the hem. It is made from 100% polyester at 140gsm, a lightweight cloth, and runs from S to 6XL. Machine wash cold with similar colors, tumble dry low, and do not bleach, iron or dry clean.
